A Message From Isaiah The Prophet
Back to Full Blog

What is happening out there? Are we as a nation, a world and a church under judgment? I think so. I have seen it coming now for a few years.

Listen to what Isaiah said concerning the judgment of Tyre: He said that those who live before God will be provided with sufficient food and durable clothing. In other words, even though the nation was judged, God provided for the faithful. But look how He provided. We know that He doesn not change so why would He deal any differently with the USA? Won't He still provide for the faithful?

Yes! He always has! But look at how He provides...this is very important. Isaiah 23:18 reads very misleadingly in the NIV. This can cause the church to misunderstand God. In the NIV, the text says..."Those who live before the LORD will have abundant food and fine clothing." But the KJV says something quite different. It reads: "Those who dwell before the LORD will have sufficient food and durable clothing." Big, big difference.

God says here that He will supply what we need. The NIV suggests that He will give in excess. Abundant food is m ore than we need and fine clothing is more than we need. But sufficient food and durable clothing has a note of necessity attached to it.

Why is this important? It is because believers who have been very faithful are going through hard times now and feel confused that they don't have abundant food and fine clothing. But God never said that!

Remember the widow of the prophet who told Elisha that she was just going to die because her sons were about to be sold into slavery to pay a debt and they had no food and no money.

What do we see here? This was a faithful family that was God fearing. Because of God's judgment on the nation of Israel, there was a famine. She suffered like all the rest eventhough she was faithful to God. But here is the thing...God miraculously paid her debts and gave her and her sons sufficient food to get them through the famine.

He will do the same for the faithful church today.

This is why we have no fear...God is faithful and those who live before the Lord will have sufficient food and durable clothing. Elisha told the widow that she should go and live at rest.

This is how we are to live each day no matter what comes. If there is a job loss or unpaid debt or whatever as a result of this economy which I believe is judgment...we should live at rest and trust God.

So waht can we do if trouble comes our away? Walk with God fully trusting Him no matter what and we WILL be at rest!

The Lord bless you today as you walk according to His will.
